Utilising a fleet of Airbus and Boeing wide-body aircraft, Virgin Atlantic operates a network of international services to North America, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia from its hubs at London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports. The carrier also operates domestic services to UK destinations such as Manchester and Edinburgh. Virgin Atlantic is privately owned by the Virgin Group (51%) and Delta Air Lines (49%). The existing shareholders and Air France-KLM announced "their intention to expand their strategic partnership" on 27-Jul-2017. Subsequent to the agreement, Delta will retain its 49% stake and VIrgin Group will reduce its share to 20% of VIrgin Atlantic. The agreement is subject to the execution of definitive agreements and receipt of final shareholder, board, and regulatory approvals. The JV agreement is expected to be executed by 2019.
